A Grand Night at the Races

Have a flutter on the horses with a Broad Oak Race Night.

At the start of the evening each team of guests will be given an equal amount of 'fun' money to gamble with and a Race Card listing the horses in each race.

The races are shown on a huge screen in a centrally visible position while an enthusiastic and exuberant compare will commentate on the races and 'gee' everybody up into parting with their money. Tote staff dressed in jockey silks will wander between the guests taking their bets and placing them at the Tote desks around the room. Pay out desks will be set up at the front of the room to create the racing atmosphere.

The room will be decorated with a winners post; 2 8ft X 8ft back drops of racing horses, and horse cut outs.

Of course, we supply all of the video projection and sound system too.

The form of each horse is described at the start of each race to give the 'punters' a chance to weigh up the odds and make an educated bet, every opportunity to create an authentic feel will be taken and guests will feel they are really having a night at the races.

At the end of the evening all the money is banked and totalled. Prizes can be awarded to the team (table) who has made the most money.

Optional Extra - Best Hat Competition

We can also run a Royal Ascot best hat competition, where we leave a cap and some props on each table, the guests have to make an hat, 3 hats are allowed to each table and the best one is entered into the grand final and paraded in front of everyone by its designer. A prize is provided for the winner.
